Overview

  • Round One - Maze Mania + Sumo Fight:
  • Participants control robots in a physical maze, where the objective is to navigate the maze's obstacles and reach the central endpoint. Manual radio controls test their agility, speed, and precision. They must complete the maze within a challenging time limit of 1 minute and 30 seconds. An elimination round follows to select the top teams for Round Two. Two teams each receive an identical, specially designed sumo robot which will be controlled by remote. The objective is simple but thrilling, push the opposing team's robot out of the designated arena to claim victory.

  • Round Two - Boardgame Battles:
  • The remaining teams face off in a strategic board game inspired by Monopoly. Each square on the game board offers a different challenge, from answering quiz questions to solving coding problems and circuits. Points are earned based on successful completion of these challenges, and a winner is declared at the end of this round.
  • Key Highlights

    1. Abstract: Capture the essence of each innovative idea as students briefly introduce their core concepts and unique value propositions.
    2. Approach and Background: Delve into the depths of their ideas as participants elaborate on the methodologies, research, and expertise that underpin their projects.
    3. Execution Plan: Gain insights into the practical aspects of bringing their ideas to life, including anticipated costs, development timelines, and key milestones.

    It Consists of 2 Rounds

    1. First Round: Participants present their startup/innovation/unique product. Top 4 or 5 teams advance based on a 50-point judging system.
    2. Second Round: A debate round with a secret judge. Judging based on a 100-point system, focusing on problem understanding and approach.

    Rules & Regulations

    • Maze Mania:

      Each team starts at one of the maze's entrances.

      The team's task is to navigate the maze walls with their radio-controlled robots.

      The goal is to reach the center of the maze within the time limit of 1 minute and 30 seconds.

      If a robot gets stuck or goes off course, participants can use their manual controls to adjust and continue.

      The top-performing teams will move on to Round Two.

    • Sumo Fight:

      Each team is provided with an identical robot.

      The competition takes place in a designated arena, typically a circular ring.

      The objective is to push the opposing team's robot out of the arena to win the game within a specified timeline.

    Round Two - Boardgame Battles:

    • Teams compete on a board game resembling Monopoly with squares numbered 1-50.

      Each square presents a unique challenge, such as quizzes, timer questions, lottery, coding problems, and circuits.

      Points are awarded based on the performance in each challenge, and teams accumulate points as they progress through the board.

      The game may have opportunities for trading, strategic decisions, and team collaboration.

      After a predefined number of rounds, the team with the most points wins.
