Overview

It is a game of ludo but with a twist. The players act as pawns and have a set of rules to follow throughout the game

Rules and Regulations:

  1. Team Composition: Our event will require teams to be composed of 4 members. Each team will have the fun task of choosing a distinct colour (Red, Blue, Green, Yellow) to represent their pawns.
  2. Setting Up the Board: To set the stage for our game, we will create a large Ludo board drawn on the ground. It is essential to choose a suitable area that can accommodate the game. Each team's pawns will be positioned in their respective houses or starting points on the board, marking the beginning of the exciting journey.
  3. Gameplay: In our game, teams will take turns rolling a dice to determine how many spaces they can move their pawns. The team that rolls the highest number will have the privilege of taking the first turn. To embark on their journey and move their pawns from the starting point, teams will need to adhere to specific rules:
    1. On the very first turn, only the team that rolls a 6 will have the opportunity to liberate one of their pawns from the house without the need to answer a technical question.
    2. Following the first turn, to exit the house and initiate movement, teams will need to roll a 6 and provide a correct answer to a technical question. This unique element introduces a fun twist, adding a knowledge-based challenge to the game.
    3. When a pawn wants to enter the Safe spots, teams will need to answer a technical question, here safe spots are spaces on the board where no other pawn can hit/kill the pawn already in that spot. If another pawn from the same team lands on the same safe spot, they can stay in it together. In other spots, landing on an opponent's pawn sends the opponent's pawn back to their house, and they must answer another technical question to exit the house again.
  4. Winning: The primary aim of our game is for a team to skillfully guide their pawns from their starting point to the exit located in the center of the board. The first team to successfully navigate all their pawns into these safe spots will be celebrated as the winner of the game
  5. Technical Questions: We've incorporated an educational component into our game by including technical questions that align with the theme of our tech fest. As organizers, we are responsible for curating a list of questions with varying degrees of difficulty. These questions will serve as both a fun and challenging element, acting as hurdles for teams to exit the house and progress their pawns on the board.

Judge Criterion:

  • Technical Knowledge: Teams get to exit the house, enter a safe spot and win the game by answering technical questions correctly.
  • Strategic Play: Judges can assess the teams' strategic decisions and how well they use their knowledge to advance their pawns and protect them.
