Overview
Advertising is the art of persuasion. If you want to flaunt your creativity and persuasion skills, you’ve come to the right place! BioMads is an exciting yet challenging advertisement competition that is biotechnology centric under TechFest’23. It is a chance for students to act out different ad ideas in a fun and exciting way. BioMads is all about manifesting your ability to create an advertisement that advertises your chosen biotechnology product/service in the most winsome manner. The act has to be creative, witty, and adhering to the topic. Show us everything that you’ve got in your expertise, and know the limits of your marketing aptness! This is your chance to get equipped with the art of persuasion, test your creativity and understanding of the customer base, and learn by competing against the best of the best creators.
Registration Guidelines:
- 1. 1st to 4th year students of any department are eligible to participate. Biotechnology knowledge isn’t a mandate but would be an added advantage.
- 2. The team members need not belong to the same semesters.
- 3. No participant can be a part of more than one team.
- 4. No participant is allowed to switch teams mid-contest.
General Instructions:
- The ad prepared by the participants must not contain any obscene words/ scenes that can hurt the sentiments of any religion, caste, gender, region, social or political group, or nationality in any manner.
- The medium of competition is English.
- The decision made by the jury will be considered final and abiding.
- Non-compliance to any rule in any manner shall lead to disqualification.
- Participants must refrain from copying the concept of the video advertisements already available on the internet or using existing video templates.
- Any form of blatant plagiarism, intended or otherwise, will strictly not be tolerated.
Rules for Round I:
- In this round, each team will have to create an advertisement advertising any biotechnological product or service of choice for length strictly between 3-5 mins.
- The topics will be participants choice.
- Each submission will be judged based on the team's creativity, customer appeal, adherence to the topic, coordination, and overall enticement of the advertisement.
Rules for Round II:
- The top qualifying teams from Round I will be shortlisted for Round II.
- In this round, each team will have to create an advertisement for length strictly between 3-5 minutes for the theme provided by the organizing committee.
- The topics will be announced and groups would be given 10 minutes for preparation and ideation.
- Further details regarding the final round will be conveyed after the results of Round II.
